Black Alt Twin - Waratah
Model Overview
Originally designed at the request of Craig Anderson, the Black ALT Twin is the most performance-focused twin fin in the Haydenshapes range. Combining the influence of late-1990s high-performance shortboards with a modern twin-fin approach, it's designed to be surfed with the same commitment and precision as a performance shortboard, while delivering the added speed, drive and flow of a twin.
Board Design
The Black ALT Twin features a rocker curve inspired by late-1990s performance shortboards, paired with a modern twin-fin outline designed for speed, precision and manoeuvrability. Its performance-focused rocker allows for tighter turns in the pocket, quick changes of direction and a more vertical approach to the wave.
The twin-fin configuration delivers natural speed, drive and flow through turns, while retaining the responsiveness needed for more top to bottom surfing. An additional rear fin box allows for an optional stabiliser, providing extra hold and control when pushing harder through critical sections of the wave.
Conditions
Best suited to quality waves with shape and power, the Black ALT Twin performs across clean beach breaks, reefs and point breaks. It thrives on steeper faces and in defined pockets, where its responsiveness allows for committed turns, quick direction changes and progressive manoeuvres.
Fin Setup
Upright twin fins are recommended, with an optional rear stabiliser for additional hold and control. Available with FCS or Futures fin systems.
