Refract Resin Coffee Table - SP01 X Hayden Cox
A collaboration between multidisciplinary designer and Haydenshapes founder Hayden cox and Australian design brand SP01. 'Refract' an is an innovative resin furniture and object capsule collection made in Australia by Haydenshapes resin team in Mona Vale.
Like sun through seawater, the internal textures of the resin move and refract light blending material and shape. Each piece has been designed specifically to interact with light source within their space and will move and shift in hue throughout the day. The stacked lineal slabs that form the coffee table base take cues from a wave set, each glowing at the tip and deepening in colour as the prism expands.
Made in Australia by custom order. Manufacturing time is up to 12 weeks plus shipping.

What is it made from?
The high-end resin material used to create each piece is a custom polyester resin formula written by Hayden Cox specific to his proprietary large format resin casting manufacturing process in Mona Vale. The discovery process and journey comes from 25 years of working with resin across surfboard manufacturing and previous experience in customising formulations to be applied to different products from art to interior.
How long does manufacturing take?
Approximately 12 weeks. They are made in Mona Vale, Australia, at Haydenshapes Manufacturing facility.
How do I care for these pieces?
Similar to marble or stone, cleaning is best done with a damp cloth and warm water. Avoid harsh cleaning products and take steps when styling the pieces to avoid surface scratching. If minor scratching does take place over time, like wood or stone, the pieces can be cut back and polished if needed.
Can I select my own custom colour?
Yes. An additional charge of 15% is incurred to customise colour.
Is the material lightweight and hollow inside?
No. Each piece is made from solid resin and a key point of difference within the market space. The high volume pour to achieve the design is extremely technical when working with resin and has become signature to Hayden Cox’s work in this space.
Can I view these pieces in person?
Yes. The collection is available in store at Space Furniture within Australia and by request, we do other appointments at our production facility. For more information, please contact our team directly.
Do you ship globally?
Yes we ship globally and will supply a quote based on our best rate possible. The pieces are packaged safely in purpose built wooden crates and packed with foam to ensure minimal internal movement.
