Stepping back and reflecting on the year that was, Hayden shares a few of his 2015 highlights and the key moments that helped shape the Haydenshapes year.
WINNING SURFBOARD OF THE YEAR.“Seeing the Hypto Krypto win Surfboard of the Year in Australia for the second year running. This model continues to surprise me year on year. We have recently been nominated for Surfboard of the Year for the Hypto in the US, announced Feb 2016 at the SIMA Image Awards.”
BRAND EXHIBITION“Launching a Haydenshapes exhibition at Semi Permanent design event at Carriageworks Sydney, supported by Audi Australia. It was amazing to be able to do something at that scale at such a prestigious venue and event. Speaking on stage with Craig Anderson and NYC artist Jason Woodside in front of around 2000 people about the creative side of what we each do individually was something I enjoyed a lot and learned a lot from.”
JAPAN TRIP.“We had a lot of fun on our trip to Japan. Being there to help launch the new Ron Herman store in Kyoto along with travelling around meeting our customers and retailers was really cool. It’s still such a crazy feeling knowing that our product reaches so many people around the world.”
WORKING WITH GOOGLE."Being part of the Google For Work campaign this year was an amazing experience for the brand and telling our story to such a wide audience. The clip has racked up more than 3.5 million views."
OUR HS TEAM.“ Some of my favourite moments this year have been watching content of the HS team out there doing their thing, surfing really well, launching their own products and taking risks on new ventures. This shot of Craig on a 5’4 Hypto at Kandui was my favourite shot this year (photo: Iker San Martin). I also loved Creed McTaggart's Real Axe series.”
BRICKS AND MORTAR.“Opening our first ever flagship store. We designed everything ourselves and worked very hands on in the process of getting the space open to the public before the years end. The concept of the store using Samsung VR and tech with a more minimalistic approach to display is really the first of its kind it was a proud moment seeing the doors open.”

LIFE.“My biggest highlight of this year was getting married and celebrating our day with close family and friends. These are the moments that you live for.”
"To our customers and community far and wide, thank you so much for all of the support, inspiring us daily, being part of a great year and for giving us the opportunity to do what we love - you make it all possible. Here's to another great year ahead. Happy New Year."
